How to stay healthy despite your busy schedule?

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is an aspiration many of us have. Therefore, sustaining a healthier diet, planning out nutritious meals, and committing to a workout schedule is on top of our to-do list. Nevertheless, with a busy schedule in place, we often realise we don’t have an ample amount of time to spare prepping healthy meals and remaining consistent with a workout plan. With time acting as a constraint, adjusting to a healthier lifestyle is not as easy and straightforward as it sounds. It’s a constant struggle.
Let’s face it; many of us are too busy to obligate ourselves to a healthier way of life. Let’s put this issue into perspective - In a British study that surveyed 2,000 adults, more than half desire to eat healthier and get a good deal of exercise as part of a routine. That said, their hectic lifestyle acts as a hindrance. Of those surveyed, two-thirds admit to having poor eating habits, and 75 % said they skip meals due to the lack of time in hand to prepare nutritious meals. Not only does lack of time prevent a healthier diet, it also causes a lack of physical activity. A considerable portion of adults included in the survey also claimed to have canceled gym memberships because they were too occupied to attend sessions regularly.
It’s relatively easy to stay off track of being healthy. A research study from the British Nutrition Foundation (BNF) has a similar conclusion as the survey described above. It also indicates how the widespread availability of unhealthy food choices further contributes to unhealthy eating habits. Of the 500 people included in the study, 24% of respondents claimed limited healthy food and drink options were available at work and close to work. Moreover, 28% say there is a wide availability of unhealthy snacks in their workplace. Thus, due to a lack of time in hand, it becomes easier to stick to what’s available.

With meal prepping, there are no more excuses for your unhealthy eating habits. Preparing your meals ahead of time saves you plenty of hours and allows you to stay on track to meet your healthy eating goals.
4.) Pack healthy snacks.
Snacks are quick and easy to pack. Instead of indulging in junk food, having nutritious snacks handy will give you the energy boost you need.
5.) Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water.
Instead of sugary and caffeinated drinks, drinking water will keep you hydrated and maximise your physical performance.
